Patrick McAlee, an accomplished airshow pilot, hails from St. Louis, MO, and resides in Chicago with his wife Natalia.

From Dream to Reality:

Patrick’s dedication to aviation was evident from a young age. His father played a significant role in sparking his interest in flying. At the age of 12, he began saving up for his very first plane. By the age of 16, Patrick was already juggling two jobs, spending weekends fueling airplanes and working as an airplane mechanic alongside his father.

During his youth, Patrick accumulated numerous hours of flight time in different aircraft. By the time he reached 18, he started sharing his passion by working as a freelance flight instructor. Attending airshows and fly-ins served as rewards for his excellent academic performance and further fueled his love for flying.

Mentored by the Greats:

Patrick’s journey to becoming an aerobatic airshow pilot was significantly influenced by the guidance and mentorship of industry legends. Renowned individuals such as Sean D. Tucker, Skip Stewart, Debbie Rihn-Harvey, and Greg Koontz played a crucial role in shaping his path. Patrick pursued formal aerobatic training at the Tutima Academy of Aviation Safety and earned his A&P degree from the University of Central Missouri (UCM). He dedicated himself tirelessly to achieving his airshow aspirations.

In 2008, a significant turning point occurred when Patrick introduced the “Blue Demon,” a highly modified Pitts S1SS Bi-plane. This transformation allowed him to shift from being a mere spectator to becoming a performer, thus turning his dreams into reality. Patrick had a clear and unwavering goal: to master the art of aerobatic flight.

Passion Meets Precision:

Patrick’s airshow routine is a reflection of his unwavering dedication to flight. Set to a choreographed music playlist, he practices precision, professionalism, and, above all, safety. His hard-hitting routine mirrors his personality—real passion demands sacrifice, and Patrick loves using his hot rod plane for a hot rod show.
