Mentor Program From airshow fan to an Airshow Performer no dream was too big or small for this aviator!

Before Patrick Mcalee became an Airshow Performer he was an Airshow Fan.

Sean D Tucker and Patrick Mcalee

Patrick was introduced to flight by his father when he was five years old; his father rented an Aeronca Champ and took him for the first time. He did a stall that he still vividly remembers to this day – he was scared and hooked at the same time! At the age of 7, he had his first roll in his father’s Skybolt, and by the age of 12, he had met the aerobatic mogul Sean D. Tucker.

When Patrick emerged from that experience, ACEs like Skip Stewart, Greg Koontz, and Debby Rihn-Harvey continued to coach him and assist him with competition flying. She also helped him get his first waiver. He was taught a great deal by Greg Koontz about the business side of airshows; he also helped him obtain a lower waiver. Finally, Skip taught him about showmanship. Having great support from industry greats, creative ideas from his wife, and formal training at Tutima Academy with Sean D. Tucker all played a huge part in shaping the performer you see now.

I love flying. Whether I’m tumbling through the sky in the Pitts S-1G Blue Demon at an airshow or getting passengers safely to and from their destinations. A career in aviation takes a lot of work, and my story takes a few twists and turns along the way. I’m just your average guy who had a dream of flying, and decided to pursue it when he was a kid.
